When does the scab fall off after Microblading?
Microblading is one of the most used techniques today. It is a non-invasive treatment that serves to draw the eyebrows one by one in a semi-permanent way.
The technique consists of filling the silhouette of the eyebrows hair by hair to obtain a much more natural result. This allows us to replace tattooing as a conventional technique to achieve a realistic appearance according to our facial features .
However, since small cuts are made with a scalpel in microblading, it is common to see small scabs as part of the healing process. Although it is perfectly normal, part of the post-treatment is based on knowing when the scabs fall off and how we should treat them to avoid infections in the medium term. In this post we explain it better:
Why does the scab come off after a microblading session?
As we have mentioned before, the microblading scab is part of the patient’s healing process. Let us remember again that during microblading we make small incisions in the epidermis to facilitate the addition of the pigment.
Although the correct depth is reached so as not to leave scars, it is common to visualize the appearance of scabs around the area. If this happens, it is important to be careful, since it is possible to generate infections or permanent scars depending on the case .
What scabs can form?
Small scabs usually form in the area that has been treated . Thick scales and pustules, on the other hand, pose a bigger problem.
If these pustules appear, there is the possibility of losing part of the pigment added to the eyebrows. However, this is rarely common. As long as the treatment has been carried out with professionalism, we do not run the risk of suffering deep scales that affect us significantly.
In short, the microblading scabs should be wispy and slightly thin. This means that its appearance and appearance must coincide with the technique used depending on the healing process.
When does the microblading scab come off?
The lighter scabs can be seen after 5 days . After four days we will notice how the eyebrow will project a lighter color than it had at first.
This is perfectly normal. Remember that by day 7 the scab will show signs of weakness, so the pigmentation of the eyebrow will become irregular and uniform during this period.
When do the scabs fall off?
Scabs usually fall off after 5 days, although day 9 is usually the decisive one . Falling off usually affects the pigment a bit, but there is nothing to worry about as long as the scabs fall off naturally.
If during the process we feel itchy, it is important to avoid scratching the area with your fingers or with any artifact. If there is discomfort, the correct thing is to consult with our specialist to find out all the possible alternatives.
Is it possible to avoid the appearance of scabs in microblading?
As mentioned above, the appearance of scabs corresponds to a natural healing process . While it is possible to take actions to counteract excessive scab formation, it is also important to remember that scab formation cannot always be 100% prevented.
In any case, the intensity and color of the crusts depend on many factors. Among them, the patient’s skin type and the execution of the technique stand out.
At this point it is worth clarifying that there are two ways to treat scabs: through dry healing or through the use of certified topicals previously recommended by the specialist.
Dry healing: We let the scab appear so that it later falls off on its own. This generally positively affects the work done, making it look much more detailed and fine compared to ointment-based healing.
Topical use : It is possible to speed up the healing process with topical creams. In this case, the scab that will form will be thinner, which corresponds to an effective method in case of itching or irritation.
How to avoid the appearance of scabs by microblading eyebrow tattoo?
As excessive scabbing can affect pigment application, specialists generally recommend cleaning the area to get rid of the lymphatic fluid secreted by the epidermis.
Hygiene and care during this process are crucial, since 30% results depend on proper technique , 40% on post-treatment care and the remaining 30% correspond to the natural assimilation of the patient .
Clean the area carefully with the help of a cotton swab. Cleaning should be done the first 3 days after treatment.
Resort to the moderate use of creams if the specialist recommends it and consider covering your eyebrows with transparent kitchen paper before going to sleep.
When you wake up, remove the paper and clean the lymphatic fluid with the help of a swab or a damp cotton. Remember to avoid using your fingers at all costs.
Generally, dry skin should be rinsed with warm water and mild soap for the first 5 days. Since you have to be careful not to stretch the skin, it is recommended to clean in a circular way to hydrate and soften enough.
Oily skin, on the other hand, should normally be rinsed mainly with lukewarm water to avoid the use of greasy creams. If any specific hydration is required, the specialist should recommend an ideal post-treatment cream for this type of skin. In addition, the use of plastic kitchen paper should be moderate so that the lymphatic fluid does not dry in the treated area.
The first few days you will notice that the eyebrows are a little thicker and darker than normal. However, remember that at this point the healing process has already begun.
If the cleaning procedure is successful, the appearance of scabs may be significantly reduced. However, light scabs and shedding are unavoidable, so it will be necessary to avoid scratching the area or pulling dead skin from the treated area.
What happens when the microblading scab falls off?
As long as the scab falls off on its own, the result will be positive. In any case, you must follow the recommendations of the specialist on the care of the eyebrows after microblading .
Remember that the idea is to optimize the healing process to achieve the expected results. Therefore, it is important to consider the recovery time as the decisive stage.
Generally this stage lasts approximately 6 to 8 weeks from the moment we apply the treatment, until the total loss of the scabs . While recovery is not painful, it is important to keep proper rest during this time.
Therefore, it is normal to notice the color changes of the applied shade. At first we may come to think that we are losing pigment, but this is not the case. In fact, this only means that our skin is regenerating naturally and that the healing process is nearing completion.
Once the first 6 weeks are over, we can go to the specialist. He will share with us his appreciation of the case and will touch up the areas that deserve to be touched up. Once this is done, we can be sure that the treatment will be effective for approximately 1 year and a half.

Hello, I have been microchading, 4 days have passed since I have used it, a scab has risen from the beginning of my eyebrow, and that bit fell silent, but it looks very clear and the tone they put on me is dark, that’s normal and then will take its dark tone

Good morning 🙂
During the healing process it is normal to enter a phase in which the pigment seems to disappear. If both the treatment and the aftercare have been correct, the eyebrow color will return after a few days.
In any case, we recommend going to the microblading professional if you notice any undesirable changes after a month, when the healing is more advanced.

Hello, I did the microblading on Tuesday and today Friday a small layer has fallen off (as if I was peeling, like when we sunbathe) from the beginning of the eyebrow, which is where I was missing the most hair. But isn’t it a little early that that pigment layer has come off? It’s only been 3 days. Thanks

Good afternoon, I would like to ask something. The my first session they made me microblading with microshading, almost all the pigment fell off and I took care of myself very well. In the second he told me that my skin rejects ink…. And I did just microshading…. Now it is healing me but it also falls off a lot…. Could it be that my skin is not good for this? Or maybe you should go to another professional? I have combination skin and I get greasy between the eyebrows. I am a bit unmotivated the truth … Thank you.

Good morning, Belén. 🙂
Normally microblading or microshading is indicated for almost all cases except those with atypical skin or very oily skin. This happens because when it comes to healing, oily skin spits out the pigment more easily. On the other hand, there are many healing factors that are unpredictable until the treatment has already been carried out, no matter how much the professional performs a good analysis of the skin.
If you want to consult your case in more detail, you can make a completely free consultation in our center.

Hello Betzaida!
It is possible that your skin was not suitable for the treatment and therefore rejected the pigment. On the other hand, in my personal experience I prefer to use a specific microblading care cream before Vaseline. If the post-treatment care has not been carried out correctly, the pigment can be dragged by the scab when it falls off.
I recommend you go to a professional technician to analyze your skin and your case, since via online it is difficult to Eyebrow tattoo specialist

Hi Katherin:
Because we are all different and have different ways of healing, the color may change a bit after the first treatment, but don’t worry! The review session exists precisely to correct these unpredictable situations.
On the other hand, many times as professionals we prefer to stay a little short in the width of the eyebrow because it seems to us that the eyebrow can be better this way, but in the same way, when clients ask us for more thickness this can be added without problem in the review session.

Good Marisol!
It is normal that during the healing process it seems that the color has desaturated, then after a few days it should reappear if the procedure has been carried out correctly and your skin supports the treatment well.
If you have any questions, make an appointment with a professional technician to analyze your case.

Hello, I did the microblading 4 days ago, the girl who did it explained to me about the healing process, and told me that they would disappear around day 10, can you use makeup to hide the lack of hair?

Hello Maria!
I do not recommend at all to make up the eyebrow until it has completely healed (15 days approx), since it must be treated as if it were a wound and keep it as clean as possible

What happens if I have been microblanding for 5 days and I haven’t gotten a scab? My question is is it necessary for me to get a scab and if it doesn’t, why could it be?

Each person heals differently, it is possible that their scabs are very small and you hardly notice them or it may take a little longer to notice them.

Today is my second day of treatment, I am still very inflamed, but I see my eyebrow very dark and thick, it tells me that it still needs to reduce inflammation and that it will be thinner, that worries me, I do not like it thick … It tells me that in retouching it can correct and thin a little , That’s possible??? I still have no scab

Hi!
If after two days of having performed the treatment you have inflammation, you should consult a professional as soon as possible.
Regarding the tone of the eyebrow, it normally lightens 30% of the color that you initially have when the treatment has completely healed.

I did it on April 12, I was like you, seeing my very thick eyebrows and I wanted to cry, because I didn’t feel like myself, it was another girl who was in front of the mirror, I felt so strange,
disappointed and regretful, then it actually lowered the thickness considerably, I already felt calmer, today after 15 days my scabs have completely fallen off but the lines are not noticeable, a very slight shadow is seen until the shape they gave me has disappeared, I am very confused and the left eyebrow is see different😭

Hello Ingrid!
In cases of oily skin, the hair-to-hair technique is not recommended, but the shading technique, although there are cases in which neither of the two techniques is recommended.
Because of this, I recommend evaluating your case with a professional technician so that you have a concrete Eyebrow tattoo specialist.

Hello, on March 12th, they made me the combined techniques of powder effect and hair by hair. 5 days ago I went for the retouch, I just have a question. What happens if you overdo it with the ointment instead of applying a little I put on a paste. That affects the bottom line. Thanks!

Good Mariana!
What happens when the area is overhydrated is that the skin will expel the pigment, so we recommend applying the ointment in thin layers. If you notice that the skin is very dry, apply it as many times as necessary, but always in thin layers.

Of all the comments I read, I did not see any with positive results and since the same thing happens to all of us in one way or another, perhaps this procedure is not as effective, in my case I have done it 4 times and the result is always the same, the color becomes too pigmented and a slight shadow remains, regardless of the care taken in the first 15 days after it is performed, my question is, can someone recommend another procedure that is effective and long-lasting? Thanks

Hello, thank you very much for the information you provide because being informed is quite comforting. Like many girls who have had this procedure done and have commented here, I have had the microblading for 7 days. From the first moment I did not like the way the eyebrows start and I told the technique that performed it, she was offended but I asked her not to saturate my eyebrows too much and especially that the beginning I wanted very natural. Anyway, reading your responses have comforted me. But I do not see myself with these eyebrows for 1 year and a half or 2 years, I really hope that my skin will be able to get a lot of the pigment in another week, but if not,Could it be that after a month I can do a chemical peel to exfoliate the most superficial layer of the skin and will it work if I am not happy with the result of my already healed eyebrows? I would heartily appreciate any Eyebrow tattoo specialists you could provide.

Good morning, 6 days ago I had the microblading done. Scabs came off pretty quickly because my wounds heal fast too. And they are already falling off, only that they remain as if they had not done anything to me, there is no mark, no color. I have read that the color usually reappears in a few days, but not even seeing any mark as if it had been made creates my doubt. Thanks.

At first the medication should not affect the healing of the treatment. We recommend that you consult with the doctor who has prescribed the medicine to make sure of this.

Hi Nidia!
It is completely normal that during the first days after the treatment it seems that the color has disappeared, it usually goes through the process that leads to the healing of the skin in almost all cases. On the other hand, since it is a skin wound, it is not at all advisable to put makeup on the eyebrow area, as this could lead to an infectious process.
Our recommendation is to wait for the color to return and avoid making up the area.
